Pay Range: $18/hr-$25/hr

Job Summary:

LifeLine-EMS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our dedicated team. The Scheduler will please a critical role in ensuring the efficient deployment of our EMS resources to deliver timely and life-saving medical care. This role requires exceptional multitasking abilities, effective communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in managing complex scheduling tasks. 

Essential Functions:

The Scheduler will collaborate with operational teams to allocate our EMS personnel, vehicles, and equipment efficiently based on real-time demand, patient needs, and geographical considerations.

The Scheduler will develop and maintain a comprehensive shift schedule for EMS personnel, ensuring adequate coverage at all times, adhering to labor laws and regulations, and considering employee preferences and availability. They will also ensure compliance with established protocols, procedures, and quality standards in EMS operations, while adapting to any changing situations.

The Scheduler will collaborate with our Communication Department to assess the needs and priorities of critical situations. They will also liaise with our EMS crews, dispatchers, and medical personnel and hospital staff to facilitate seamless patient transfers, ensure accurate reporting of incidents, and provide timely updates on response to transport status.

The Scheduler will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shifts, assignments, response times, transport details and other relevant information in our electronic scheduling systems.

The Scheduler will address scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and unexpected events by making swift and informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and response times. They will also regularly view and analyze scheduling data, response metrics, and incident reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance overall efficiency. 

Qualifications:

A High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or a related field, preferably within an EMS or healthcare environment.

Strong computer skills and proficiency in scheduling software tools.

Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.

Understanding of medical terminology and basic EMS protocols (preferred).

Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to scheduling (preferred).

Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
