Lifeline Connections is Hiring a Recovery Resource Center Coordinator Near Vancouver, WA

$18.75 - $19.75 USD Hourly

MAJOR DUTIES: The RRC Coordinator works under the supervision of the unit Program Director. This position provides agency and community based case management services to their assigned caseload of clients, conducts engagement and outreach to community agencies and the recovery community, and facilitates mental health awareness trainings based on evidence-based curriculum. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

  1. Reviews applicable Washington Administrative Codes (WACs), Revised Codes (RCWs) and Federal regulations pertaining to mental health and/or chemical dependency treatment to ensure compliance with these regulations in all provided services.
  2. Networks within the community to identify outside agencies and services available to consumer/patients to help meet their needs;
  3. Establishes and maintains relationships with community agencies and service providers to meet the needs of consumer/patients and to arrange for connections to the Recovery Resource Center (RRC);
  4. Represent the Agency in the community at various meetings and clinical reviews with the approval of the supervisor;
  5. Support and monitor the activities of the RRC;
  6. Engage individuals who access the center;
  7. Work with other RRC staff/volunteers to provide oversight of the RRC;
  8. Coordinate and facilitate mental health awareness trainings in the community based on Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and/or QPR evidence-based curriculum;
  9. Establish and maintain relationships with clinics and hospitals, local service providers, first responders, and school districts to expand the agency’s collaborative partnerships and improve coordination of services;
  10. Maintain spreadsheet to track all related program activities including community outreach, number of trainings held and when, number of attendees, etc.
  11. Will work as part of a treatment team & participate in regular team meetings;
  12. Will provide case management services to clients assigned to them;
  13. Maintain complete and up to date clinical files that document all services and contacts provided consistent with the requirements of WAC 246-341
  14. Supports and implements agency policies and procedures;
  15. Adhere to all applicable regulations regarding client confidentiality;
  16. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  1. Bachelor's degree in human sciences or related field or equivalent work experience preferred;
  2. Two years’ experience working with adults or youth suffering from co-occurring mental illness and substance use dependency preferred;
  3. Recovery coach or peer support certification preferred;
  4. Current certification or willingness to get certified as a trainer in Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and/or QPR during first 90 days of employment;
  5. Knowledge of mental health resources in the community or willingness to learn;
  6. Ability to build rapport; skilled at community outreach and establishing mutually beneficial relationships;
  7. Able to work well with others and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  8. Familiarity with applicable Washington State regulations related to the provision of mental health services (RCW 71.05) and chemical dependency services (WAC 246-341).
  9. Current unencumbered driver license and proof of current car insurance.

GUIDELINES

This position requires that the incumbent obtain and maintain Washington State credentials through the Department of Health. This position also requires the incumbent to have a valid drivers license with a good driving record and a private vehicle in order to fulfill the duties of the position.

COMPLEXITY

The incumbent provides community based case management services to consumer/patients who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems.

PERSONAL CONTACTS

Contacts are with the members of the treatment team, patients, significant others of the consumers, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of chemical abuse and mental illness, and related community representatives including hospital personnel, lawyers, probation officers, and other court officials. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of patient records.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift and/or move maximum of 30 lbs. The employee is regularly required to effectively operate an automobile.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working hours are spent indoors in offices or other meeting rooms or various community locations with consumers. Supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities will be required.
