Lifecare Health is Hiring a Hospital Educator (RN) Near Fort Worth, TX

We have an immediate opportunity for a Hospital Educator (RN).

General Summary: The Hospital Educator plans, develops and coordinates the dissemination of clinical and non-clinical education programs within LifeCare Hospitals for all staff. The Hospital Educator works with hospital leadership and staff to assess current educational needs and develops a plan to satisfy those needs.

Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older).

Essential Functions:

  • Assess learner characteristics, including learning styles and learning needs, in order to establish goals for staff education in accordance with LifeCare mission, vision and goals.
  • Plans and implements educational programs to meet identified needs incorporating concepts of adult learning while considering concepts of multicultural and multigenerational education.
  • Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and resource utilization when developing and evaluating educational programs.
  • Integrates current research and evidence based best practice into educational programs and practice.
  • Coordinates with hospital leadership to ensure job specific requirements are completed and documented (i.e., new hire orientation, annual competencies and skills, clinical certifications).
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams using effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate process improvement that promotes safe practice and positive patient outcomes.
  • The knowledge and skills necessary to perform position requirements are demonstrated through the successful completion of competencies established for the position, to include population served, and other special needs of patients and customers, served by the department.
  • Adheres to LifeCare policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is required.

Requirements

Experience: Two to five years’ experience in a hospital setting. Experience in planning, teaching and developing programs based on regulatory requirements, evidence based practice and hospital outcomes. Has the ability to asses and respond to the demands of the changing hospital environment with just in time education.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in an approved registered nurse program. Master’s Degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current license in the state where practicing is required. Current BLS certification is required upon hire and ACLS certification is required within six (6) months of hire. BLS and ACLS Instructor certification preferred. The Hospital Educator must maintain current licensure, BLS, and ACLS certifications while employed with LifeCare Hospitals.
