Reports To: Senior Billing Manager / Dispatch Manager

Job Summary:
The PCS coordinator works with both billing and dispatch to make sure all necessary paperwork is submitted prior to transport. This person will be responsible for following up with facilities that have not submitted paperwork. This person will also be responsible for making sure all paperwork is submitted and correctly filled out. This person is also responsible for making sure any outstanding face sheets are obtained and assisting billing with getting necessary information.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Functions:

  • Work with dispatch and billing to make sure all PCS forms for non emergent transports are gathered.
  • Call any facility that has not sent in required documentation.
  • Call any facility that has submitted incorrect documentation and get this information corrected.
  • Communicate with billing management on any facilities that are not providing paperwork.
  • Work with the intake coordinator to make sure any other necessary paperwork is obtained and correct.
  • Help with getting face sheets for calls that were ran without insurance being captured.
  • Obtain any bill facility forms when the facility is financially responsible for the call.
  • Take calls off ‘hold’ in the CAD system when proper paperwork is received.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of two years related experience.
  • Certified Biller and Coder strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.

Required Abilities and Skills

  • Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid eligibility requirements and commercial insurance payer payment methods, payer contracts, & government regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing systems, with a strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to communicate successfully via phone and email.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking and analysis.
