Position Summary

Responsible for the financial leadership and accounting oversight of 5 corporate business functions: Real Estate, Asset Management, Capital Planning, New Business Planning and Treasury. This role will act as the controller for Lease Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting and WIP Accounting. The individual will need to work closely with the CFO/CEO to oversee and review the allocation of capital resources across the organization. This role will require a high degree of knowledge related to new business planning/modeling, capital governance and accounting related to fixed assets, leases and WIP. Success in this role is being able to translate executive leadership’s vision into a manageable and consistent strategy for the broader team to execute. This is a cross-functional role that will require strong communication, good team building skills and the ability to take complex/diverse information and simplify it for a broad audience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Confer with leadership to discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
• Oversee, develop, and enforce capital governance process
• Prepare and delivery capital forecasts for a rolling 5 years, Communicate plans to executive leadership and the Board of Directors
• Oversee the new business planning underwriting process, prepare materials for executive leadership and board approval
• Oversee and enforce internal controls and GAAP accounting related to real estate, fixed assets, capital projects and contract administration
• Oversee cash management and treasury functions for the organization
• Facilitate and manage overhead budgeting, forecasting and monthly reviews for real estate, architecture and construction

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines
• Ability to analyze data, establish facts draw conclusions, recommend solutions
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field

Years of Experience:

• 10 years of related experience
• Prior supervisory experience in construction or property development accounting
• Experience with fixed asset accounting software systems, preferably Sage FAS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with fixed asset accounting systems implementation
