Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading a team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to help business partners to make informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have a blend of accounting and financial reporting experience with a strong aptitude for process improvement and the ability to solve unstructured problems. This person should be professional and knowledgeable about accounting processes and perform the duties of the position while upholding Life Time’s Mission Statement.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

· Oversee and coordinate the work of Staff and Senior Accountants

· Manages month-end close activities

· Partners with business leaders and finance to resolve complex issues

· Develops and enforces policies and procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

· Leads and supports other key ad-hoc initiatives and projects

· Uphold controls for audit compliance under Life Time’s accounting policies

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

5 years of professional accounting experience

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Knowledge of general ledger accounting

Prior supervisory experience of accounting/financial reporting functions

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Excellent customer service skills

Team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Public Accountant candidate

Fixed/Capital Asset accounting experience

SEC reporting experience

Experience with Workday
