CASE & MONEY MANAGER for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities & Autism aka a LIFE COACH

Sign On Bonus $1000 ($500 at 3 months and $500 at 6 months--must average a minimum of 20 hours weekly)

LIFE Hyannis is currently seeking 1 Full Time and 1 Part Time Life Coach to assist our independent residents in fulfilling their potential by assisting them in managing their daily life skills ,

A LIFE Coach must be RELIABLE, PATIENT, & KIND, with the heart and ability to help these wonderful clients to have productive and happy lives, lived as independently as possible!!!

This Position is regular weekday hours with one weekday early evening social event (bowling, movie night, walk the canal, arts & crafts or your passion shared with our individuals, etc). Occasional half-day on either Saturday or Sunday for special social events may be requested.

FLEXIBILITY in your schedule is available as long as the needs of our clients are met.

The applicant:

• Must have good organizational skills
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and good computer skills
• Must be able to transfer communications and deeds to written notes
• Must be a team player with the ability to work with the entire group to the benefit of the individuals we support in Hyannis
• Experience in Human Services and/or Learning Disabilities or a similar population is required - (Personal experience and Special Olympics experience is valued)

Position Responsibilities:

* Assist the individuals to meet their goals and objectives in the following areas:

• Home maintenance,
• Personal health maintenance,
• Nutrition & fitness
• Social skills development

* Assists, organizes, and facilitates activities as assigned

* Assist the residents with money management and budgeting, shopping, and preparing healthy meals safely

* Participate in team-related services; staff meetings, resident/roommate issues, resident case reviews with staff, agency, and/or family

* Managing transportation needs. Providing when appropriate

* Supporting or providing access to recreational entertainment activities in the community

* Complete routine documentation creating meaningful case notes after every session or significant communication with the individuals we support

* Make recommendations to meet the needs of residents that are beyond the scope of the LIFE Coach (i.e., medication adjustments, therapy by licensed clinician, private tutor, house cleaner, etc.)

* Maintain sanitary conditions of workspaces and vehicles; complies with LIFE guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Flu, etc. (e.g., uses personal protective equipment, social distancing when needed, etc.)

* Other similar duties as assigned by the LIFE Management Team

Applicants must:

• Have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and dependable transportation
• Be able to pass DPPC, CORI and fingerprinting background checks through our governing agency (DDS)
• Be willing to obtain at LIFE (or already have) current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid
