Life Cycle Engineering is Hiring a LCS Electrical Technician Near San Diego, CA

LCS Electrical Technician
Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is looking for an Electrical Technician to perform preventative maintenance on U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Class Ships based in San Diego, CA in accordance with the Navy's Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
Clearance Required:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance and be capable of obtaining base access
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance using the Navy Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC) to inspect, test, make adjustments, perform minor repairs, or replace defective components on shipboard equipment
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions through visual inspections and testing devices
  • Reassemble and test equipment after preventative maintenance
  • Identify and document system and/or equipment problems
  • Verify configuration data
  • Refer to drawings and manufacturers' specifications that relate to equipment undergoing maintenance
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Ability to pass PQS 3M-301 Maintenance Person qualifications
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy preventive maintenance system
  • Proficient in using general and special purpose electrical test equipment to perform organizational level maintenance
  • Knowledge of Tag-out User's Manual
  • Knowledge to properly verify equipment is de-energized per Naval Ships Technical Manual (NSTM) Chapter 300
  • Knowledge of Navy Safety and Occupational Health Program Manual for Forces Afloat
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following shipboard electrical systems:
    • Machinery Plant Control and Monitoring System (MPCMS)
    • Ships Service Diesel Generator
    • ASCO Automatic Bus Transfer (ABT) Types 435, A942, and 942
    • Electric Power Switchgear support equipment
    • PSG/L3 Static Automatic Bus Transfer (SABT)
    • Shipboard Lighting system
    • Alarm, Safety, and Warning Systems 4361 (LCS 1 Class) CKT FA and CKT FD

  • Five (5) years' experience working on LCS Class electrical systems
  • Experience with Tag Out User's Manual
Physical Demands & Expectations
  • Regular physical activity to include (but are not limited to): climbing, crawling, typing, hearing, kneeling, lifting, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, talking, vision, and walking.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
