PURPOSE
The primary focus of campus faculty is to provide the necessary education to Life West students in
preparation for successful chiropractic practice.
Faculty work in collaboration with members of the department and college community to fulfill the
educational mission of the department and college.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Primarily responsible for the instruction, supervision and evaluation of students in the
  2. classroom and/or laboratory setting. Complete course assessments for department.
  3. Maintain and edit course content as needed in conjunction with the department chair for each
  4. course taught.
  5. Schedule and be present during student office hours.
  6. Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught, including grading and
  7. attendance records.
  8. Adjunct faculty are required to attend department meetings if scheduled on their teaching day.
  9. In addition to instructional responsibilities, other responsibilities as outlined in the collective
  10. bargaining agreement (e.g. faculty development)
  11. Comply with the LCCW code of conduct as well as all college policies, as specified in the
  12. Employee Handbook and Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal Degree (DC, PhD, MD, or other doctoral degree)
  • Two years teaching, clinical or other relevant experience
  • Educational, clinical or experience as required by the department

  1. Strong teaching skills in Basic Sciences Subjects:
  2. Systemic Histology
  3. Skeletal Anatomy
  4. Spinal Anatomy
  5. Regional Anatomy
  6. Cell and/or Systemic Physiology
  7. Biochemistry
  8. Pathology
  9. Physiopathology
  10. Strong teaching skills
  11. Effective written and verbal communication skills
  12. Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality in regards to students/employee
  13. information
  14. Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict timelines
  15. Strong interpersonal skills
  16. High degree of initiative and independent judgment
  17. Appropriate multimedia and computer skills

LCCW PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:

  • Office space to include a desk, phone and computer.
  • General office equipment and supplies as needed to perform job functions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
  • Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work
  • documents, set-up and maintain work files.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work performed in a general office/educational environment.
  • This shall include, but not be limited to, adequate ventilation and temperature control, lighting,
  • security, and protection at all College facilities, and properly maintained buildings, clinics,
  • offices, and classrooms.
