The Cypress of Hilton Head is recruiting for a hospitality focused Dietary Aide to join our team! 

Job description

The Cypress of Hilton Head offers our residents the opportunity to access additional healthcare services as their health warrants. We offer two long term skilled neighborhoods, one short term skilled neighborhood and one memory support neighborhood. We are expanding and looking for additional team members to help support our healthcare team. The Dietary Aide works as part of a team to transport food from our main kitchen and serve our residents. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced, caring environment. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion to work with seniors is essential. The safety and care of our residents and team is our number one priority. Rate starts at $16/hour, tiered for experience.

Essential Functions:

1. Update the daily diet and supplement report with new orders.

2. Attend dietary meetings as scheduled.

3. Maintain and complete a selective menu for all residents.

4. Assist/read to the residents requiring assistance to complete the menu selection and identify appropriate alternative selections or substitutions.

5. Complete all side duties as assigned.

6. Inform resident of any menu selection changes and substitutions.

7. Ensure accuracy of trays prior to delivery to resident’s room.

8. Photocopy necessary forms/menus used by the Dietary staff.

9. Operate all Kitchen equipment safely, according to established policies and procedures.

10. Understand the responsibility to report suspected violations of The Cypress Code of Conduct to appropriate persons, to The Cypress Compliance Hotline, by completing a Written Report of Suspected Compliance Violation, or by contacting the Corporate Compliance Officer directly.

11. Take appropriate precautions to avoid job related injuries and comply with injury reporting guidelines.

12. Actively participates in safety programs and complies with The Cypress Club policies and procedures.

13. Looks for ways to continuously improve safety for members, staff and visitors.

15. Maintain kitchen sanitation per DHEC Rules & Regulations.

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Works indoors; must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the work day; must be able to lift and carry menu sets and stock weighing up to 25 lbs. independently; must be able to sit for several hours at a time, and have good manual dexterity to use a writing implement. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the work day. May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, communicable diseases including the HIV and Hepatitis B virus, and offensive odors.
