The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. We are currently seeking a Technical Solutions Architect to join the Digital Repository department within the USC Libraries. This position provides technical leadership, analysis, and design from both a technical and business viewpoint. The Technical Solutions Architect works with business teams and stakeholders to scope projects and define high-level requirements. The position will develop enterprise-level application and custom-integration solutions and ensure that system architectures are functional and robust. The position defines multiyear architectural roadmaps for Digital Repository services and systems. The Technical Solutions Architect conducts research in emerging technologies and identifies technologies with high-potential business value and evaluates how they would meet the Digital Repository's business needs.
This is a full-time 5 year, fixed-term position.
The annual base salary range for this position is $147,475.37 - $164,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 10 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Recognized subject matter expertise in at least one IT discipline (Networking, Information Security, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, IT Infrastructure) Excellent presentation and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed, heavily federated organization through a combination of influence, partnership, and authority. The ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects and to work independently. Preferred Education: Master's degree Preferred Field of Expertise: A graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or Management. Recognized subject matter expertise in multiple IT disciplines (Networking, Information Security, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, IT Infrastructure). Strong analytical, research and conceptual skills. Ability to develop and maintain key relationships to achieve business objectives essential. Extensive knowledge in the use of Project Management and Enterprise Architecture methodologies and tools. Strong leadership skills.
