The role of a Student Engagement Specialist (SES) is to connect and cultivate relationships with donors, alumni, students, family, and friends of Liberty, with an objective of increasing overall engagement and support of the university. The SES will accomplish this using digital technology, emails, traditional phone calls, and traditional mail to engage with university constituents. This position is an integral part in supporting the overall efforts in fundraising by the Development Division of Liberty University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Obtain a working knowledge of the strategic engagement opportunities presented by proactive and reactive outreach to connect the constituents of the university.
2. Utilize technology and strategies provided by CODE to effectively support the objectives of the Development Division.
3. Follow specific steps to cultivate relationships with alumni, donors, friends, and family of Liberty with to begin or increase their financial support.
4. Work directly with the CODE Manager of Quality and Assurance to accomplish the goals set by the Asst. Vice President of Development and Engagement.
5. Aid in outreach and follow-up for events and activities on behalf of Alumni Relations and Development.
6. Assist with the setup, tear down and staffing of events hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and Development Division.
7. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
8. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position interacts with individuals outside the university as follows: donors, alumni, students, prospective students, parents, churches and organizations through phone calls, emails, written communication, and video conferencing.

4. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
5. Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan
6. Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)) Education and Experience

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is not required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
