Liberty University is Hiring an Assistant Director of Quality Assurance Near Lynchburg, VA

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Assistant Director of Quality Assurance for Institutional Effectiveness and Research serves as an auditor for various processes within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research. The goal of this position is to ensure that the processes dealing with data, policies, compliance, and accountability are followed based upon institutional expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a full-time, salary, 12-month position with the following responsibilities:
  • Verify institutional statements across university publications for consistency with source materials.
  • Align University Catalogs' non-academic content with official university information and data.
  • Review institutional policies for adherence to accreditation standards and best practices.
  • Update the Data Dictionary for relevance, accuracy, and operational alignment.
  • Ensure institutional statements demonstrate action, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Audit transfer credit policies, including Experience Plus Portfolio, for compliance.
  • Review and report discrepancies in College/School program handbooks to IER leadership.
  • Ensure College/School meeting minutes follow University standards.
  • Maintain updated College/School organizational charts in designated locations.
  • Align College/School Faculty Credential Guides with SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
  • Verify faculty course assignments against credentialing requirements.
  • Ensure Degree Completion Plans are accurate and align with policies.
  • Conduct timely and regular faculty evaluations.
  • Analyze course enrollment, success rates, and completion for program evaluations.
  • Manage accreditation compliance documentation.
  • Oversee course and program content processes, including learning outcome updates.
  • Standardize course learning outcomes.
  • Audit Faculty Portfolio Tool data for consistency.
  • Review New Course Comparability Policy across different course formats.
  • Align the University's Faculty Handbook with current operations.
  • Ensure consistency between University Catalog and webpages.
  • Educate College/School Leadership on the importance of data quality.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality assurance and continuous improvement for accreditation data.
  • Implement evaluations for accreditation-supporting data.
  • Provide Control and Audit Reports on compliance to the Vice Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research.
  • Work collaboratively, fostering LU's mission.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree, experience in higher education is required. Must be fully proficient in all academic processes and regulations as they apply to students.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
