Line Technician
Position Description
The Line Technician Position is to perform Line Operations to assure production objectives are achieved while emphasizing safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
Department: Production
Position and Objectives Summary:
· Ensure customer’s specifications and requirements are met as documented on Work Orders
· Fully understand all Work Order content (material, part, processing, and packaging requirements)
· Adjust SWD & Strand; monitor & manage pattern
· Flattener adjustment & thickness management
· Slitter set up and adjustment
· Shear / Back gauge set up, monitoring & adjustment (GF)
· Blanker set up, monitoring, & adjustment (HS or GF)
· Accurately record material records on Work Orders; recording starting weights & Carry to/Carry from coil numbers on W/O's
· Properly track and secure all raw material tags during production run
· Part size verification, monitoring & management; inspection and recording results on Work Orders
· Coil management on coil to coil product (recoilers, splicing, removing finished slit coils, etc.)
· Tagging of all product off the line (move tags) – responsible for part quantity management
· All other post expanding duties
· Complete required paperwork (work order / inspection sheet / move tags / coil tags)
· Accurate labor reporting (scan into & out of jobs, including set up)
· Familiarity with and to all safety hazards prevention methods w/ assigned equipment lines - i.e. Lock out Tag out (LOTO) procedures, PPE, etc.
· Participate in continuous improvements in production
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Minimum Education Requirements:
· High School diploma or GED
Minimum Experience Requirements:· Mechanical aptitude· Knowledge of all ISO Procedures and Work Instructions for operations
· Knowledge & ability to set up and run all types of secondary process equipment (slitters, shears, flatteners)
· Knowledge of material types and selection for work order (Type / Gauge)
· Ability to read and understand calipers, micrometer, tape measure· Ability to measure Thickness, Strand Width, SWD, LWD, SWDB, LWDB and / or 3rd Dimension (conicals)
Skills/Competencies:
· Intermittent standing, walking, and unassisted lifting up to 40 lbs.
· Good communication with co-workers and supervision
