Pay Philosophy

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.


Description

GRS Claims Tech is searching for an IT Director for the Claims Portfolio. This leader will be responsible for the planning and delivery execution of multi-year roadmaps, as well as ongoing maintenance of an ecosystem of capabilities that support the GRS Claims Operations for WC, Casualty, Property, Auto, Surety and our Global businesses. This includes, but is not limited to the following:


About the role:

  • Set the culture and environment of the department, centered on trust and psychological safety, live the culture through clear and consistent messaging and interaction
  • Create harmony across the broader organization, through gaining alignment among broad group of stakeholders, partners and peers, while also building confidence in technology with stakeholder group
  • Coach, guide, and mentor both direct and matrixed team members, including objective session and delivering meaningful feedback throughout the cycle, catered to the individual
  • Ensure the department has the right resourcing mix of FTEs, Contractors, Experience, Disciplines (balancing current and future technical skill needs) with the right objectives and measures
  • Guide planning and execution of multiple, integrated roadmaps, that equip the organization with the capabilities needed to achieve its objectives
  • Prepare and deliver Executive Leadership communication including accomplishments, plans, financials, strategic, and tactical direction
  • Be an advocate for, and shape, both technical and business direction with respect to products, services, process, and outcomes
  • Bring cross-Liberty Mutual, and industry perspective with respect to both insurance and technology, to elevate both what is delivered and how it is delivered
  • Practice continuous improvement, learning, and inspire innovation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Generally, more than 10 years related experience with 5 years in leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities. In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools and IT standards and guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques. Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams.
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
