Description

Position Summary: The Kids Director is responsible to develop, promote, and implement a comprehensive Parent and Kids Ministry of reaching, teaching, and ministering to children, birth – 5^th grade under the direction of the Campus Pastor and Next-Gen Pastor.

Position Reports To: Campus Pastor with Ministry Direction Supervision from Next-Gen Pastor

Hours: This is a full-time position. Attendance at all Sunday and mid-week services and special events are required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Innovate, plan, and carry out events and programs with the intent of reaching children and their families with the Gospel.
2. Provide a discipling process for children who have made or desire to make a profession of faith.
3. Create a means to assimilate children into Groups and equip children’s leaders in evangelism.
4. Schedule and deliver team orientation and ongoing training for volunteers involved in the Kids Ministry on a regular basis.
5. Organize and lead the Kids Ministry by maintaining and expanding the Kids Group ministry and Kids Ministry in general.
6. Develop and lead a team to implement and carry the Kids Group ministry on Sunday Mornings which includes a Large Group Teaching, Worship Time, as well as Small Group Time.
7. Schedule and conduct parenting and family enrichment activities to disciple parents to provide Godly leadership in their homes.
8. Continually evaluate the Kids Ministry at Liberty to judge and improve effectiveness in reaching, teaching, and ministering to children and their families.
9. Assist in selecting Biblically based and age-appropriate curriculum.
10. Expose and educate children about local, national and world missions.
11. Develop and maintain a budget for the Kids Ministry.
12. Refine and implement check-in procedures for children for services and special events to maintain a safe and secure environment for children and their families.
13. Maintain and improve volunteer screening processes to ensure the safety of children.

3. Use independent judgment to determine work priorities.
4. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor and Next-Gen Pastor.
5. Is a loyal staff member by cooperating and following the leadership of the church.
6. Follow Liberty’s policies and procedures.
7. Work in coordination with the overall mission, goals and objectives of the church which are summarized by the mission statement “Changing Lives, Communities and the World for Jesus Christ.”

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to relate to children and parents personally.
2. Ability to recruit and train adult volunteers to be part of a ministry team.
3. Ability to learn and abide by Church policies and procedures.
4. Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner and use tact and discretion.
5. Prefer a minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree or working toward the degree.
6. Experience in leading a children’s ministry.
7. Be a self-starter with drive, passion, and initiative.

Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The job will primarily be carried out in an office setting and require sitting, standing, as well as bending, and carrying some moderately heavy items.
