General Laborer/ Forklift Operator

In this role you will assist with the coating/sealing of pipes for the utility industries. This is a job for you if you like working with your hands in a team environment! Prior utility and/or construction industries experience is a plus. Only first-shift work is available, with some overtime possible.

The following sections provide an overview of the work conditions, minimal requirements, physical and mental demands and expectations of the company. This General Job description is applicable to ALL hourly employees. These would include any production, maintenance, machine, forklift, crane and other operators, non-skilled laborers and skilled laborers as an example.

* Baseline Job Duties – All Hourly Plant Employees

• Employees perform various tasks around the plant such as clean up, loading boards on trucks, loading and unloading trucks using large forklifts, recording, verifying and transferring information from items on paper or else ware onto a pipe, package or paper form.
• Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment, such as steel toed boots, hardhat, safety glasses and a fluorescent safety vest or shirt.

• Employees must be willing to join the Laborers Local 57 Union, after a 180 day probationary period. There is a union initiation fee and weekly dues paid to the union.
• Employees can be reassigned duties at any time.

* Job specific education physical and mental demands- All Hourly Plant Employees

Must be able to stand & walk for minimum of 5 hours at a time, work in varying temperatures and stay focused, lift up to 75lbs, and "think on your feet". High School Diploma or GED required.

* Job rotation requirement

Employee must be able to perform all above mentioned sections’ requirements, as it is the company’s practice for job rotation scheduling of work tasks to promote ergonomic health.
