POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for the inspection, loading, weighing, and shipment of railcars and trucks in a safe, efficient, and acceptable manner while following all company quality guidelines and work procedures. The position is also responsible for the safety, upkeep, and cleanliness of the loadout areas.All job duties are expected to be carried out as assigned in a timely and acceptable manner, while following all the safety policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Railcar Loading

  • Load rail cars with correct material and weight in a safe and efficient manner, following all the quality guidelines and work procedures
  • Use the shuttle wagons in a safe and efficient manner to move and position railcars for loading, weighing, and shipment
  • Quality assurance. Inspect empty railcars for contamination and damage, take and label material samples from each car and clean as needed
  • Accurately complete and maintain all documentation required for railcar loading
  • Ensure that the rail loadout areas are safe, clean, and well maintained

Truck Loading

  • Load trucks with correct material and weight in a safe and efficient manner, following all the quality guidelines and work procedures
  • Quality assurance: Inspect trucks to ensure that they are clean and in satisfactory condition for loading and when required, sample product and send to lab
  • Weigh trucks and print loadout tickets (must be qualified and bonded) when necessary
  • Ensure that the truck loadout areas are safe, clean, and well maintained

Safety

  • Work safely and report any safety issues and hazards to the correct personnel
  • Perform and document required workplace and equipment pre-shift inspections
  • Enforce and comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures
  • Tell the Maintenance Manager, Mine Manager, or Mine Foreman of safety hazards, repairs, or help that is needed to operate the plant in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform preshift inspections and document them
  • Operate the plant within its means to help minimize issues that could occur from break downs and plug up

Perform other duties as assigned

  • Backup any other qualified position as assigned
  • Provide on the job training to other employees as assigned
  • Complete general maintenance and preventive maintenance duties relating to the position
  • Perform all required housekeeping duties
  • Perform preventive and light maintenance on equipment as needed

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
  • Ability to consistently lift over 30 pounds as needed

Required Experience:

Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. The ability and willingness to work any shift, be on call, overtime, and weekends. Ability to work within a team environment. Good attendance and safe working habits are required. Ability to multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet customer needs. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired

Required Education: High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.
