LHH is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Kansas, MO

LHH Recruitment Solutions is representing one of our Kansas City clients seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist sitting on its Human Resources team. This full-time position features a standard 8am-5pm schedule from Monday through Friday. Based in downtown Kansas City, the role also offers the flexibility to work from home one day a week. Our client provides a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package including 20 days PTO annually and company paid parking, and opportunity for professional growth!
Job responsibilities include:
  • Processing payroll for approximately 550 employees- hourly and salaried- on one biweekly payroll schedule
  • Ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle- including wages taxes, benefits, and more- are reconciled, audited, and transmitted timely and accurately
  • Maintaining and coordinating the bonus incentive and deferred compensation processes
  • Researching and resolving employee queries, ensuring a high level of service
  • Tracking and managing all necessary paperwork for tax deductions, benefits, and garnishments
  • Maintaining compliance regarding local, state, and federal payroll tax laws
  • Facilitating the employee change process in various company systems and managing current and correct electronic personnel files for all employees
Qualifications needed:
  • Must have experience processing payroll with ADP (ideally WorkforceNow and eTime) and using ADP’s reporting functions
  • At least 3 (three) years of professional experience in payroll is required
  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required; commensurate professional experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work with varying levels of management is needed
  • Strong Excel skillset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a huge plus
