Summary :
LHH is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our client’s healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and assisting with administrative tasks.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Hours :
Monday : 7 : 45 AM - 5 : 00 PM
Tuesday : 7 : 45 AM - 4 : 00 PM
Wednesday : 7 : 45 AM - 4 : 00 / 4 : 30 PM (with travel to Hillcrest)
Thursday : 7 : 45 AM - 3 : 00 PM
Friday : Some Fridays, 10 : 00 AM - 12 : 00 PM (schedule may vary)
Duties :
Checking in and checking out patients : Welcome patients upon arrival, verify their information, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Similarly, assist patients with the check-out process, scheduling follow-up appointments, and collecting any outstanding payments.
Collecting patient payments : Accurately process payments for services rendered, co-pays, and outstanding balances. Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality of financial transactions.
Verify Insurance and update demographics : Confirm patient insurance coverage, update demographic information as necessary, and ensure all information is accurately recorded in the system.
Medical Records Releases : Facilitate the release of medical records in compliance with patient confidentiality and legal regulations.
Maintain organized record-keeping systems for efficient retrieval.
Triage phones and faxes : Manage incoming calls and faxes, prioritize urgent matters, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
Provide information and assistance as needed.
Scheduling and confirming appointments : Coordinate appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations. Confirm upcoming appointments with patients via phone or email to minimize no-shows.
Experience Required :
Healthcare secretarial, administrative, and / or clinical experience, at least 1 year : Previous experience in a medical office setting, familiarity with medical terminology, and understanding of healthcare administrative processes.
Organizational skills / multitasking skills : Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Good writing skills and grammar : Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail when composing correspondence, updating patient records, or posting on social media platforms.
