LGI Services is Hiring a Part Time Logistics Coordinator Near Ankeny, IA

This is a part-time position. Flexible scheduling available during normal business hours, up to 20 hours per week. Purpose: To assist Logistics team members on daily work functions. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Student in pursuit of AS or BS degree in a business or supply chain degree preferred. Experience: Previous experience within transportation and/or logistics is preferred. JOB DUTIES: Documentation Duties: Accurately enter information from a sales order into a database that contains all past and present sales orders. From this database, perform the daily function of supporting logistics team in moving products to the customer. Enter International Ocean Bookings into INFOR system. Update International Ocean Bookings timely within INFOR system as updates are received by freight forwarders, especially during peak season. Assist with LTL shipments, as directed. Gather export rail tracing detail from freight forwarders and provide consolidated data to logistics team. Other Duties: Track, review, gather and prepare reports for Logistics team, as needed. Support all plant personnel with any shipping and receiving objectives. Enter freight pricing and POs into INFOR as directed by logistics team. Assist with preparing Excel pivot tables and grids to meet department project deadlines. All other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work 15-20 hours per week (during normal business hours) with flexibility when required during peak times. Basic knowledge of computers and a variety of software packages. Strong attention to detail. Accuracy in filling out paperwork and entering data. Ability to learn terminology used in the domestic and international transportation industry (incoterms), and use them in the correct situation when applicable. Ability to maintain customer and carrier history (i.e. names, locations and cost structures of each location). Ability to effectively interpret and convey written and verbal communications. Ability to operate required office equipment (calculator, computer, fax machine, copier, etc.). Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity. Must be willing to change and learn new methods of organization. Also must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to assist in other work-related areas as required.
