Leydig, Voit & Mayer is Hiring an Intellectual Property Legal Assistant Near Chicago, IL

Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd., an Intellectual Property (IP) law firm, is seeking a qualified candidate to join our Chicago office as a Legal Assistant. Training will be a part of the hire process. Duties to include work on patent prosecution and related projects. Responsibilities may also require working on assigned special projects, including administrative support tasks as needed. To illustrate, tasks may include conducting research, data collection and entry, managing client communications, organizing files, and helping prepare letters (as well as related documents). Candidates should be comfortable in a work environment where tasks may evolve day-to-day. Candidates can expect hands-on projects with the opportunity to develop experience, insight, and skills.

In addition, well-qualified candidates should be service-minded, highly organized, efficient, show a natural ability attending to details, show an aptitude for problem solving and creativity, have good analytical skills, have very strong written and verbal communication skills, and be proactive. Candidates must also be able to work well both independently and within the framework of assigned attorneys. 1-2 years’ experience a plus but not a requirement.

Candidates should possess strong basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.
