The Social Media & Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for enhancing the Co-op's online presence, fostering community engagement, and promoting a positive brand image. This role involves managing social media platforms, creating content, and implementing initiatives to connect with the local community.

Requirements
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
Social Media
· Curate content for the Co-op's social media platforms, including Facebook Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as TikTok, a new platform for the Co-op. Execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
· Create engaging and shareable content, including compelling visuals, videos, and written posts.
· Collaborate with marketing and graphic design team to develop compelling content that aligns with the Co-op's brand and promotional calendar.
· Monitor and respond to customer feedback and inquiries on social media platforms.
· Address customer concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate departments when necessary.
Community Engagement:
· Implement initiatives to actively engage with the Co-op’s local community partners.
· Foster relationships with community organizations to strengthen the Co-op's community ties.
· Plan, coordinate and promote community events, classes, sponsorships, partnerships, and campaigns.
· Represent the Co-op at local events to enhance community visibility.
Promotions and Campaigns:
· Coordinate and execute social media promotions, contests, and campaigns to drive store traffic and increase customer loyalty.
· Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align promotions with business goals.
Analytics and Reporting:
· Monitor social media analytics to measure the success of campaigns and initiatives.
· Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and insights to inform future strategies.
Collaboration with Departments:
· Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and store management teams to align social media activities with overall business objectives.
Other Duties · Live the Co-op's Culture and Values .
· Attend and participate in Open Book Management and weekly team meetings as required and adapt schedule to changing needs that arise.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Passionate about the Co-op and in supporting a strong local food system
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Marketing planning skills
· Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Strong organizational and event planning skills.
· Proficient in social media scheduling and analytics tools.
· Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging content.
· Proficient with Adobe InDesign software.
· Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Skills.
· Demonstrated experience writing and editing a variety of materials including recipes, social media posts, feature stories, blog posts, fact checking, web and educational materials.
· Detail oriented.
· Friendly and outgoing.
· Knowledge of Co-op products.
