SUMMARY:
The Nursing Assistant Pre-op/PACU provides assistance to the nursing staff in the pre-op and post-operative areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Experience functioning calmly in high pressure situations and experience working with little supervision.
(2) Proficient using computers, software, and web-based applications.
(3) Good organizational and time management skills.
(4) Ability to adapt to changes in the clinical environment and work in a fast-paced environment.
(5) Effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, and interpersonal relationship skills.
(6) Experience carrying out detailed written and verbal instructions.
(7) Previous experience in a surgery center or hospital operating room.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include intermittent physical mobility/activity including the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; light lifting, pulling or pushing of carts, equipment, etc. Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, push/pull patients and or equipment up to 100 pounds. sit, stand, walk and negotiate steps; lift, move and transport patients, equipment and supplies; motor coordination and manual dexterity; articulate speech; ability to read and understand orders; visual acuity.
