Job Description:

The Technical Writer will work with the Army STRAC division. The STRAC Division mission is to determine the quantities and types of

munitions required for Soldiers, crews, and units to attain and sustain weapon proficiency relative to readiness levels; making maximum use of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) and sub-caliber firing devices; and validate all ammunition requirements for combat and operation load, home station and combat training centers, POI’s, New Equipment Training, Mobilization Training through the STRAC process as outlined in AR 5-13 (Army Munitions Requirements, Prioritization, and Authorizations Management Policy ). The Technical Writer shall analyze impacts of Army Transformation on

weapon training strategies as prescribed in DA PAM 350-38 (Standards in Weapons Training) and on training ranges in relation to provide training support resources through the TT PEG by reporting requirements to HQDA G3 as the STRAC Lead agent as outlined in AR 5-13.

Technical Writer Qualifications:

The Technical Writer shall have 3 years work experience in technical

writing skills IAW the Army Publication Directorate process of army training manuals, DA Pamphlets, or regulations. The Writer shall have 3 years work experience of DA Pam 350-38 (Standards in Weapons Training), and its application to ammunition requirements associated with the Army’s Integrated Weapon Strategies Training Events.

Specific Tasks:

5.1 The Contractor shall capture all force structure (modularity) and training strategies requirements changes and ensure integration of these changes into FY 1 version of the DA PAM 350-38.

5.2 The Contractor shall provide support in developing and editing the FY 1 versions of DA Pam 350-38 IAW STRAC TO deliverable timeline and order. All DA PAM 350-38 edits must meet the Army Publishing Directorate (APD) compliance standard.

5.3 The Contractor shall coordinate with TPO-Live Range Modernization planners to assess range, target, and training ammunition impacts of the A/S/I Combat Team Gunnery and Individual Weapons Training Strategies and ensure current ranges and range development efforts can support new emerging strategies.

5.4 The Contractor shall update, monitor and maintain STRAC website functions and staff documents through secured multi-media methods. The Contractor shall ensure the current fiscal year version of the DA PAM is available on 1 October annually.

5.5 The Contractor shall provide the analyses and recommendations that impact future weapon systems and new training ammunition technologies.

5.6 The Contractor shall support and participate in the Army Munitions Requirements Working Group and Army Munitions Requirements Council of Colonels to provide program/project status analyses and assist in programmatic requirements.

5.7 The Contractor shall attend the annual Training Support System (TSS) Workshops, meetings and conferences.

5.8 The Contractor shall assist in TPO-L (STRAC) with ammunition data analysis and resourcing datasheets annually.

5.9 The Contractor shall be the direct liaison between TPO-L STRAC and SRP Teams for synchronization of the two divisions.

5.10 The Contractor shall develop and provide required written minutes, summaries, papers, and other written material within timely and proficient manner to meet the guidelines of AR 25-50 with the rate of 45 words per minute (WPS).
