LEXEO Therapeutics is Hiring a Research Associate, Lab Operations Near New York, NY
Role SummaryReporting to the Director of Analytical Development, the Research Associate will be responsible for supporting LEXEO internal laboratory procedures and daily operations. This will include inventory management of lab consumables, cell lines and reagents, and tracking of these materials in the electronic notebook system. This also will include the receipt and packaging/shipping of materials as needed by lab personnel. Additional duties will involve assisting with maintenance of lab equipment and EHS related activities. Finally, the Associate will assist with the daily operation of lab related activities as required (e.g. cell line maintenance, reagent preparation, etc.). Primary Responsibilities
Manage, organize and track inventory of laboratory materials
Request materials as needed in the lab ordering system to maintain inventory, maintain equipment and assist with laboratory EHS program to ensure seamless laboratory operation
Be familiar with liquid nitrogen and compressed gas use and safety in a lab setting
Prepare and receive laboratory shipments, and inventorying and notifying lab staff as appropriate.
Perform routine tasks as needed in a biological laboratory, including such tasks as sterile cell line maintenance (growth, passaging, cell counting, etc.) and reagent preparation for such assays as digital PCR and ELISA.
Required Skills & Qualifications
BS/MS degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related fields
Hands-on experience with cell culture
Enthusiastic learner with an attention to detail
A demonstrated knowledge and interest in biology, biochemistry, or an associated field of study
Ability to design scientifically sound experiments under guidance, to interpret results, and to present findings
Effective written and oral communication skills
