Job Title: RMA Evaluator* Location: *Forest Parkway, Shelton CT

Summary: The RMA Evaluator person is responsible for maintaining and managing RMAs (return merchandise authorizations) for Production Departments. This includes the disposition of such item. They are responsible for (1) the timely monitoring of quality issues reported by Lex’s customers; and the (2) development of detailed evaluation procedures and short term resolution plans for individual units. This role increases customer satisfaction through open and clear concise communication and performing problem resolutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Perform Quality analysis on customer RMAs for evaluation and repair.
  • Document a detailed evaluation on returned product to identify problems with RMA units.
  • Complete below outlined steps for RMA analysis:
  • Outline a disposition plan for each of the units in the RMA Department.
  • Develop a short-term resolution for RMA units with clear breakdown of the following requirements
  • Material required, including an outline bill of materials.
  • Labor required.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts to find solutions for recurring issues.
  • Develop and outline long term solutions through Engineering Change and Temporary deviation requests as needed.
  • Disassemble any non-working RMA units and outline parts return to stock with warehouse teams.
  • Interpret and read bills of material, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings and other schematics.
  • Complete Quality Control testing and requirements as needed.
  • Provide input to help improve the performance of the department.
  • Function as a team member within department work groups and with other internal departments.
  • Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
  • Perform tasks while complying with company safety policies.
  • Use good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but do not constitute the complete list of everything that may help one be successful in this role.

  • High School or GED required
  • Electrical Knowledge Preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on problem resolution
  • Ability to clearly dissect and determine root cause problems and clearly recommend resolution of issues.
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed with limited day to day supervision, while staying on track to meet the daily and weekly goals.
  • Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and other manufacturing information.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite – Required. Enterprise / Material Resource Software (Made 2 Manage) a plus.
  • Ability to work in metric and English units of measure. Ability to read and follow blueprint/drawing/electric wire diagram & specifications.
  • Must be able to proficiently utilize inspection tools, gages and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to manage his/her time in an effective manner.
  • Excellent communication skills - both spoken and written (email, etc.) - are required to properly communicate work instructions and discuss issues with other Lex employees.
  • Capable of maintaining records about the production details and products.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work long hours and overtime as needed.
  • A team player.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable and able to adapt to changes in the work environment and tasks.
