Primary Purpose:

To provide a safe and secure learning environment though proper care of district grounds and athletic fields.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Driving record that meets the requirements of the district’s insurance carrier

Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

• General knowledge of all vehicles, tractors and mowers
• General knowledge of fertilizer and weed control applications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Possess a positive attitude

· Minimum three years of experience in grounds maintenance and care

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

· Maintain and care for all schools’ grounds

· Prune trees and trim hedges to promote growth and improve appearance

· Perform playground inspections and minor repairs

· Perform stadium cleanup

· Perform other duties as assigned

Equipment Used:

· All equipment and vehicles assigned to grounds

· Hand tools

· Safety equipment

Physical Demands:

Constant: Bending, pulling, pushing, hearing, seeing, speaking, standing, lifting*, walking.

Frequent: Reaching, climbing

Occasional: Sitting

*A minimum of 50 lbs.

Pay: $15.85 - $23.75 per hour
