Lewiston Senior Living is Hiring a Resident Assistant Near Lewiston, MN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal cares and activities:

    *Dressing, bathing/showering, toileting, oral cares, shaving, nail cares, etc. *Other cares as indicated per care plan, ROM exercises, repositioning *Apply assistive devices such as hearing aids, glasses, or other aids *Assist with transfers and ambulation using walking aids per supervisor and care plan *Assist/provide activities for residents and encourage participation *Other duties as assigned

Provide health care services, as trained and delegated, specific to each resident’s service agreement/care plan, and complete all required documentation:

    *Administration of medication, per MAR (medication administration record) instructions. *Obtain resident’s vital signs as directed by nurse or care plan. *Check blood glucose levels or INR, with proper use of equipment and documentation of results. *Provide simple dressing changes per nurse instructions. *Communicate with supervising nurse regarding any concerns or questions. *Record actions and/or observations accurately, as instructed, in proper logbooks or electronic recordkeeping devices. *Follow HIPAA privacy policies. *Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines.

Assist with food production and meal service:

    *Assist Culinary Staff with minor food preparation and meal service. *Ensure food is presented in proper portions and in an appetizing manner. *Prioritize tasks and complete assignments efficiently. *Maintain a professional image and adhere to community dress and decorum expectations. *Provide a comfortable dining experience and friendly service for residents. *Consistently follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, per Culinary Manager

Observation of residents while performing care. Responsible for alerting nurse of any changes observed, i.e. changes in skin, mental status, confusion, and behaviors as delegated.

Responsible for household services in residential and common areas; including laundry, removing garbage, vacuuming, dusting, bedmaking, changing bed linens and other housekeeping duties as directed.


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Focus- Respond to resident needs in a timely and courteous manner. Treat residents with dignity and respect. Observe resident privacy and confidentiality in all aspects of care.

Communication- Utilize good listening skills. Communicate in a clear and concise manner. Keep others informed and share information appropriately. Maintain all confidentiality and HIPAA standards.

Problem Solving- Suggests solutions to problems. Demonstrate effective problems solving skills.

Teamwork- Cooperates and puts forth a good effort to achieve the work group’s goals. Offers to assist co-workers. Appreciates individual differences and is willing to accept other’s opinions.

Dependability- Meets attendance and punctuality expectations. Follows responsibilities through to completion. Accepts responsibility for his/her decisions and actions.

Safety- Uses proper body mechanics. Follows safety policies and procedures. Ensures that work areas are orderly; clean and free of hazards.

Productivity- Completes assignments and duties in a timely manner. Prioritizes tasks and manages time well.

Quality Improvement- Works to prevent error and to improve processes and services.

Interpersonal Skills- Strives to understand and accept differences among co-workers and customers. Handles conflict in a positive manner. Shows respect for the needs and feelings of others.

Cost Control- Uses supplies and resources carefully and efficiently. Looks for ways to reduce costs when possible.

Professional Development- Maintains current knowledge in field and licensure/certification, if applicable.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.00 - $19.00/hour.
