Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, has a vacancy for a full-time Science teacher at Lewis-Palmer High School beginning with the 2022-23 school year. Must have, or be eligible to receive a Colorado teaching license with Science endorsement(s) or be eligible/in-field in the endorsement area. Course load will possibly cover chemistry and biology. Experience with Advanced Placement is desired but not essential. Coaching athletics and/or sponsoring student programs is also available. The start date for teachers new to the District is August 4, 2022, and the start date for students is August 16, 2022. This position will close February 28, 2022 with interviews tentatively planned for early March.

LPHS teachers will plan instruction and assessment aligned with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards. Supervise assigned students and maintain a positive learning environment. Adapt instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff and community members.

Exact placement on the salary schedule can only be determined by the Chief Human Resources Officer upon contracting. As a guideline, we offer up to 9 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 10, per school board policy. This salary range is $37,132 (Level 1, Step 2) up to $53,191 (Level 9, Step 10) dependent on education and experience levels. The current teacher salary schedule can be found on our website.

Full-time employees, employed at least thirty hours per week, of Lewis-Palmer School District are eligible for health insurance plans that include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Lewis-Palmer does provide one plan that is of no cost to the individual. However, employees may choose from a selection of plans that include coverage additional options for individuals, employee plus spouse, employee plus children, and family plans. All employees are eligible for participation in the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Account, PERA. Paid leave is accrued in accordance with District policies and afforded to all persons in accordance with Colorado law.
