Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Floor Manager
***Desired schedule is full time. Monday through Friday ~7:30 am to 4 pm.

Summary

The store shipping and receiving associate’s primary responsibility is receiving incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials and shipping goods from the establishment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of shipments against bills of lading or invoices
• Take appropriate action when deviations occur
• Keep accurate records of goods received
• Report damaged goods and shortages
• Route goods to the proper departments 
• Prepare records of goods shipped, bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges
• Keep organized files of all shipping records 
• Ability to run a manual/electric pallet jack
• Additional duties assigned my management

Employee Role Expectations

• Use of bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices in addition to paper forms 
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized stockroom, free from tripping or other potential hazards 
• Ability to safely operate a forklift may be necessary, upon receiving proper training
• Work on sales floor as necessary—including stocking shelves 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Frequent lifting of items up to 75 lbs. with or without accommodation

Qualifications

High school diploma plus one year of related experience (or equivalent)

Reading, math and communication skills
