Position Reports To (Title):

Dean of Science, Math, Engineering and Technology

Scope of Position:

Teach and assess student learning outcomes from courses in Paramedicine and Emergency Medical Services. Serve as coordinator of Paramedicine/EMT program. In collaboration with colleagues, responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvements within the context of Lewis and Clark Community College’s general education objectives and articulation requirements.

Key Measurable Expectations

Teach EMT/Paramedicine courses according to relevant student learning outcomes.
Develop and/or revise course(s) in collaboration with academic and industry colleagues. Organize course structure and content, including course outlines and manuals. Coordinate selection of textbooks and supplemental materials. .
Recruit and interview adjunct faculty.
Prepare and administer the annual budget in EMT/Paramedicine programs.
Initiate and maintain accreditation status for EMT/Paramedicine programs.
Act as a liaison with community health agencies, institutions and/or health groups.
Market the programs and recruit prospective students.
Develop and maintain clinical affiliations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Nationally registered paramedic, Certified lead instructor.
Three years of EMT/Paramedicine work experience.
Provider cards in ACLS, BLS, CPR, PEPP or PALS, and ITLS or PHTLS.
Driver’s License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in related field.
Certified instructor for ALCL, BLS, CPR, PEPP or PALS, and ITLS or PHTLS.

Physical Demands

Lifting (minimum lbs. required) - 10lbs, Bending, Stooping, additional items (identify) - manual dexterity, physical stamina, and visual capacity to perform required technical procedures

Some Evenings , Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 , Some Weekends
