1. PURPOSE
1.1. The purpose of this document is to define the requirements of the Quality Manager at Lewark Metal Spinning, Inc.
2. SCOPE
2.1. This procedure applies to the Quality Manager role specifically.
3. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1. Overseeing the inspection activities of employees in all manufacturing departments.
3.2. Verifying that the work of the employees in the Machining department is performed adequately.
3.3. Provides inspection training to employees who are responsible for receiving or in-process inspection.
3.4. Responsible for maintaining inspection tools and equipment according to quality policies.
3.5. Must follow company rules and regulations.
3.6. Responsible for control & distribution of quality system documents
3.7. Must follow quality system policies and procedures.
3.8. Functions as the Quality Management System Representative for ISO / AS9100 auditing purposes.
3.9. Performs other duties and projects that may be assigned from time to time by the President.
4. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
4.1. Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in quality management.
4.2. A B.S. degree in a technical field is preferred but relevant job experience may act as a substitute.
4.3. Must have general knowledge of welding, machining, material requirements, metal polishing, metal stamping, metal forming, and metal spinning.
4.4. The ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently and coherently.
4.5. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
4.6. The ability to write reports and fill out forms.
4.7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
4.8. Ability to work with metric dimensions and convert from metric to standard.
4.9. The ability to read technical drawings and specifications at an expert level, determine if errors exist, and have the ability to recommend corrective action(s)
4.10. The ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written duties, diagrammed, or oral instructions.
4.11. Must have the ability or the willingness to learn the application of statistical techniques.
4.12. The ability to operate and program measurement machines.
4.13. The Quality manager must be computer literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
4.14. Must have the ability to train employees in inspection techniques.
4.15. The ability to train to, calibrate, and use common measuring equipment / tools.
4.16. Body positions of standing up to eight (8) hours a day, walking, climbing stairs, twisting, pushing, pulling, using hands, fingers to handle, feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
4.17. The ability to see clearly, identify colors, and have depth perception and the ability to focus quickly.
4.18. The ability to function in an occasionally stressful environment due to the production schedules.
4.19. A strong knowledge of systemic discipline specifically in an ISO9001, AS9100 manufacturing environment.
5. MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
5.1. The departments' over-all ability to maintain the quality standards of the company.
5.2. The ability to manage / direct the efforts of the personnel reporting to this position.
5.3. The quality of work performed by the department.
5.4. The department meeting or exceeding the production schedules.
5.5. Training and assisting of all the machine operators.
5.6. Attendance during the year.
5.7. The ability to work with his peers, all employees and management.
5.8. Timeliness of submitting reports as required.
6. SALARY - $85,000 - ANNUALLY
