Levitated Metals is an aluminum recycling manufacturing facility in New Caney, a suburb of Houston. Levitated uses a proven density flotation technology to separate aluminum from other metals produced by the scrap metal industry. Its fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture focuses on safety, product quality and environmental responsibility.

Our place in the supply chain is between large scrap metal shredding operations and the global aluminum smelting and castings business. We take a non-ferrous byproduct of steel shredding (Zorba) and use heavy media flotation to create a high-purity aluminum feedstock (Twitch) for the castings industry. Levitated is successful, profitable and at the forefront of R&D to support the aluminum needs of our economy’s future.

Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and versatile Scale Operator / Logistics Clerk to support our operations by managing truck scales, interfacing with inventory systems, and coordinating shipments. This role serves as a key point of contact for suppliers and customers, ensuring smooth and effective communication and operational flow. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records and optimizing material handling within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage truck scale operations, ensuring accurate measurement and compliance with regulations.
• Interface with the inventory management system to keep precise records of all inbound and outbound materials.
• Coordinate closely with the logistics department to schedule and track shipments, optimizing the flow of materials.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers and customers, managing relationships and resolving inquiries or issues efficiently.
• Assist various office functions, acting as a floating support to enhance productivity and facilitate operational needs.
• Work under the direction of the Logistics Coordinator to align daily activities with overall logistics strategies.

· Communicate effectively with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth material handling processes.

• Maintain detailed records of inventory and ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

· Assist with general office tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and filing paperwork.

· Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scale house and office area.

Qualifications:

· Bilingual – Spanish fluency

· Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.

· Knowledgeable with Word, Excel, and other basic computer skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Previous experience in using inventory management software and related technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Job requirements and other details

· Valid State Driver’s License and US Passport required.

· Must be able to work outside normal business hours and days as needed.

· Very minimal time is spent in an outside setting that may require various periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet, or dry.

· May have exposure to dust and/or diesel exhaust, etc. as expected in an outdoor manufacturing company.
