POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Bridges Program Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Bridges Program, which provides support to traditional LeTourneau University students with Autism who choose to participate in the program to gain social and academic skills that will enhance college success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with university departments to coordinate specialized and institution-wide training on how the university can best serve students with Autism.
• Promote the Bridges Program through Preview opportunities, meetings with students and families, and collaboration with Autism networks and high school guidance counselors.
• Hire, train, and supervise graduate and/or undergraduate staff to carry out the mission of the Bridges Program.
• Develop and facilitate an annual program for students enrolled in the Bridges Program that begins with specialized orientation and includes social and academic support activities throughout the year.
• Work closely with the Director for Student Achievement to ensure Bridges students receive disability accommodations.
• Develop social accommodation letters and correspondence with faculty to provide greater awareness of the needs of Bridges participants.
• Manage budget for Bridges Program.
• Participate in Student Life departmental trainings and events.
• Develop and coordinate academic-related programs that will enhance student persistence and progression.
• Participate in early alert initiatives, including the four-week and mid-term intervention program.
