Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree is psychology, social work, counseling, ABA, or a related
field
  • Valid Special Education Administrator certification from the Department of Elementary
and Secondary Education
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in behavioral care and/or special education,
including, but not limited to, leadership roles and supervision of staff
  • Experience in program development
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in evidence-based practices for treating a range of
behavioral health conditions across the lifespan
  • Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and
motivate a diverse team of professionals
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and
efficiently communicate/collaborate with staff, students, families, and community
stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle
complex clinical and administrative challenges effectively
  • Understanding of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic factors that influence education
and behavioral care delivery, with a commitment to fostering equity and inclusion
  • Familiarity with legal requirements, regulations, and various standards regarding special
education and behavioral health
  • Experience in completing evaluations and interpreting data
  • Training and experience in de-escalation techniques, preferably CALM and/or Safety
Care

Job Description:

The Administrator for Behavior and Therapeutic Programming will oversee the district-wide
programming involving ABA and therapeutic services, specifically the substantially separate
ABA-based program and the Student Support Center. This position will report to the
Administrator for Special Education and Related Services. The Administrator for Behavior and
Therapeutic Programming will work collaboratively with the Principals, Special Education
Coordinators, Special and General Education Teachers, support staff, related service providers
and families to ensure that the delivery of IEP services are being provided with fidelity in
accordance to students’ Individualized Education Programs. The Administrator for Behavior and
Therapeutic Programming will also provide training and support and monitor the delivery of ABA
and therapeutic services for students with Autism and other emotional/developmental
disabilities. The Administrator for Behavior and Therapeutic Programming will help ensure
continuity in programming across the district.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership: Supervise and provide leadership to BCBAs and/or counselors to coordinate
ABA and behavioral, social, emotional services for students with various disabilities as a result
of IEP Team recommendations.
2. Chair IEP Team meetings for students accessing the substantially separate ABA
programming and the Student Support Center, to include re-evaluation eligibility meetings,
manifestation determinations, and others as needed.
3. Program Development: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of
behavioral/therapeutic programs and services to ensure quality and effectiveness.
3. Staff Development: Train, supervise, and evaluate staff members to ensure a high level of
performance. This will include providing professional development, support, assistance and
consultation to school-based teams and special education staff in the delivery of day-to-day
instruction and targeted interventions based on specially designed instructional methodologies
to review data to progress monitor students’ performance. Provide clinical oversight and
consultation to staff members, including case review, treatment planning, and crisis intervention
as needed.
4. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the behavioral services
department in alignment with district vision and objectives.
5.Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance standards to ensure compliance
with regulatory requirements and best practices in behavioral care and special education laws.
6. Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race,
color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, natural origin, sexual orientation,
homelessness, or disability
7. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned by the Administrator of Special
Education and Related Services and/or Superintendent
