DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

SUMMARY

Working under general supervision, the Facility Maintenance Associate performs a variety of housekeeping and support functions in a retail merchandise supply chain facility. The principal business outcome of this position is to provide a clean and safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The support mentioned above includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities.

• Operates cardboard/plastic balers; trash compactors; sorting and relocating tier racks; constructing/repairing tables and pallets; and installs and replaces light fixtures and bulbs.
• Performs general cleaning duties such as painting, mopping, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, and polishing. Maintains facility grounds with related equipment and provides minor plumbing repairs and/or maintenance. Maintains and exchanges mobile equipment batteries as needed.
• Maintains a risk-free environment by inspecting and maintaining fire extinguishers and following hazardous waste handling processes.
• Electronically logs scheduled inspection reports of the operating equipment, fixed building equipment and building structures, maintenance, repairs and other records and schedules.
• Adheres to all operational, loss prevention and safety standards which includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Assists technicians as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of workplace safety standards and compliance
• Experience using mobile equipment preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Minimum high school diploma/GED equivalent
