Leman is a 3PL Warehouse/Distribution and Order Fulfilment facility. The Director will be responsible for supporting the culture of operational excellence and provide the strategic and tactical support in building the warehouse into an integrated, efficient, fast response, flexible, customer oriented, accurate, and cost-effective operation.
Responsibilities
• In coordination with Senior Management, execute the logistics and operational strategic plans.
• Establish standards and monitor operations to ensure compliance with the company rules, safety procedures and government regulations.
• Organize and direct the logistics staff, company assets, and 3rd party service providers to deliver logistics service to the expected performance targets.
• Develop KPI’s for the logistics staff while offering the necessary guidance and tools to achieve the set objectives.
• Investigate, verify, and resolve customer or shipper complaints with Client Services.
• Manage and negotiate contracts and rates with all logistics providers.
• Review understand and transfer knowledge on market trends for strategy development.
• Manage continuous improvement of current logistics and/or transportation processes, determine improvements, drive corrective actions and lead change.
• Lead process improvement for every area of operations.
• Evaluate new client opportunities and develop (with the team) strong solutions for sales
• Maintain strong metrics to exceed client’s expectations and business profitability.
• Maintain full profit and loss financial responsibilities, driving sound management decisions
• Drive new business development with the assistance of the Logistics Sales team.
• Manage new business implementation.
• Manage C-TPAT and Container Freight Station (CFS) compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent; or a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post graduate degree, a plus.
Experience
• Reliable history of successfully overseeing a 3PL warehouse distribution facility.
• Solid experience with E-commerce, 3PL, B2B and B2C.
• Prior experience implementing a Warehouse Management System “WMS” preferred.
• Prior experience coordinating warehouse facility layout and enhancements, a plus
• Lean Six Sigma or equivalent programs a plus.
• Extensive experience in project management and team management.
• Understanding of federal and industry regulations pertaining to international import and export shipments.
Technical Skill
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
