Job Description
The Defense Systems group at Leidos currently has an opening for a RF Design Engineer to work in our St.Petersburg, FL office. The Leidos facility in St. Petersburg provides design, development, modeling and simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing of advanced electronic systems, with a focus on embedded communication systems, Software Defined Radios and Phased Array Antenna Systems to various DOD and commercial customers.
Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in designing, developing and testing sophisticated RF/Microwave Systems and Antennas.
• Determine operating parameters and design approaches for RF components that include power amplifiers, filters, transmit/receive modules, antennas and other fundamental components.
• Select COTS components based on analysis of specifications, availability, cost and reliability.
• Test RF components and subassemblies and verify compliance with design documentation.
• Create design specification documents, schematics, BOMs and printed wiring board layout instructions.
• Model and simulate various RF designs and then transition to proto-typing and testing designs.

Basic Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals, including Smith Charts, impedance matching, S-Parameters, and RF measurements
• Experienced in using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, power meters and typical RF measurement equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently holds an active Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Experienced in using simulation tools such as HFSS, Microwave Office and Matlab.
• Experience in designing microstrip circuits, such as impedance matching and microstrip components.
• Antenna design and power amplifier design are a plus.

Pay Range: Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
