Are you passionate about supporting our warfighters' health and operational performance? seeking a Computer Programmer II/Software Engineer to join in the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory at the Naval Medical Research Unit in Dayton, OH. The Challenge:

  • Develop and test programming code for computerized experimental tasks in support of research activities.

  • Write programming scripts and configurations to enhance functionality and/or performance of software applications in support of research activities as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot system bugs and issues.

  • Develop user manuals, procedures, and guidelines. Any and all publications are subject to review and approval by the Government.

What sets you apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar and 2 or more years of experience OR a Master's degree in a relevant field OR a High School Diploma and 8 or more years of experience

  • Proficiency in programming languages including C , Qt, C#

  • Experience in: Both Windows and Linux based development or an understanding of cross-platform development concepts and standards and Git for version control

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Clearance can be obtained after hire

  • Due to government contract requirements, US Citizenship is required

  • Familiar or experience with Game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or Godot Engine), Basic networking development technologies (UDP and TCP/IP), and Multi-threaded applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Flight simulation (X-Plane) and Industry Simulation-Visualization (CIGI, DIS, etc.) is highly desired

  • Experience in a military or medical research environment

Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,050.00 - $113,975.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
