Café Food Prep/Servers are one of the points of contact for guests visiting Lehman’s Cafe. They will assist with food preparation, order taking, and collecting payment via the POS system. Café Food Prep/Servers will assist in creating a memorable experience by conducting themselves in a friendly manner and by providing excellent customer service.

• Clean and organize eating and service areas; collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing.
• Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and ice cream from the Café menu and recipe instructions.
• Select food items from serving or storage areas to be placed on serving trays, or in takeout bags or containers.
• Serve guests their prepared order and process payment into the POS computer system; make change as needed.
• Receive and check incoming food and supplies; notify Café supervisor of shortages or errors.
• Participate in food prep and stock supplies at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Inspect food service equipment to ensure they are operational at the beginning of the shift.
• Comply with Health Department regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Scheduling: This is a seasonal/temporary position needed for summer/early fall; due to the influx of traveling customers, availability to work on Saturdays and holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) is REQUIRED of all our retail team members

Education: Minimum of an 8th Grade education required

Experience: Minimum experience of 3-6 months in a customer service, retail and/or customer-centered environment or relevant life experience is preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Customer service oriented - Ability to take care of customers’ needs while following company procedures.
• Communication skills - Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Computer skills - Working knowledge of computers preferred.
• Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate effectively using the English language. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Our store hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 or 6:00 pm (depending on the day and time of year). You can expect to be scheduled to work within those timeframes, with the exception of some stocking and warehouse positions, which may start at 7:00 am. Saturday availability is required for all retail and customer service positions because these tend to be our busiest day of the week.
