OVERVIEW

The FBO General Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Fixed Base Operation. Reporting to the Director of Business Development the FBO GM is tasked with maintaining better than industry standard safety and customer service practices and building and guiding a high performing team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Provide highest level of customer service
• Use industry contacts to help market the FBO to potential new users
• Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers to ensure effective operations.
• Ensure the appropriate standards of training, safety and security are achieved in compliance with Authority requirements, and industry best practices.
• Ensure all staff adhere to Authority policies and procedures
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to manufacturer specifications and kept in safe working order
• Ensure facilities are in good repair and maintained to a high level of cleanliness
• Maintain excellent safety record and administer zero tolerance accident policy
• Establish and promote positive organizational culture in accordance with Authority mission, vision and core values
• Develop and administer the departmental budget
• Hire, train, coach, discipline and terminate staff as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of 5 years’ aviation industry including 3 years of management or supervisory experience
• Working understanding of the FBO business model

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 year degree from an accredited institution
• 10 years progressive management experience in the FBO industry
• Working knowledge of CFR139.321 regarding fuel farm management, quality control and safety
• Working knowledge of airline fuel standards from Air Transportation Association of America (ATA), Part 103
• Familiarity of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Part D1655

• Ability to plan and organize work, establish priorities to carry projects through to timely completion and when necessary meet emergency demands
• Ability to establish and maintain exceptional working relationships with customers and tenants
• Ability to effectively interact with co-workers at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and perform work in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Ability to prepare effective and concise reports
• Valid driver’s license required and maintained that meets insurance requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and written
• Read, write and speak English
• Frequently walking, standing, sitting, moving wrists and fingers
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs. unassisted

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

• Job requires working indoors and outdoors to physically monitor and inspect all areas of responsibility. Frequently may be exposed to loud noises, temperature changes, heat, and humidity
