What you'll bring to the team

The position is responsible for inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic to intermediate diagnostics and repairs on gas powered automobiles, buses, light/ heavy trucks, golf carts and other fleet equipment. In addition, the position is responsible for performing wheel/tire inspections, repairs, and installations.

In this role, you will:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including but not limited to: lubrication and oil changes; brake, wheel, tire and battery services; belt, hose, headlight and basic component replacement.
• Perform basic to intermediate skill-level repair work on fleet vehicles and equipment including but not limited to: alternator, starter, water pump replacement and auxiliary equipment installation.
• Perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems.
• Submits estimates of time, labor and materials for pending assignments.
• Submits and completes work order assignments.
• Ensures that all personal hand tools are in good repair and sharp cutting tools are sharpened.
• Attends weekly staff meetings for purpose of directing, informing and training.
• Keeps safety as #1 priority.
• Other duties as assigned per business need.

Qualifications & Experience

About You

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Requires knowledge of OSHA, state and county codes.
• Associates degree in Auto Mechanics and/or or Diesel Technology is preferred.
• Good knowledge of the procedures, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of a variety of construction equipment and machinery.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and make reports on work performed.
• Skill in the use of the tools, machinery, and equipment of the mechanic trade as well as computers.
• A friendly, polite and customer service-oriented demeanor is required.
• Requires the ability to follow supervisor’s directions effectively with the ability to observe and remember details.
• Ability to work varied hours based on park operations.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
