LEGAL ASSISTANT/INTAKE SPECIALIST

The ideal candidate should have 6 months prior office environment experience and motivated to grow. This candidate should be passionate about helping others, highly organized, and work well under pressure with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. This is an entry-level position. A background in workers compensation is preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing client signup documents and opening new files; including filing new applications through our claims management program and EAMS (will train)
• Log and update notes through our internal case management software, we use MERUS Case
• Prepare various legal documents and correspondence
• Scan, Process and distribute high volume of mail and faxes daily
• Handle high volume of calls; responsible for answering phones and routing calls to the appropriate individual
• First point of contact for clients and visitors;
• Send Deposition Transcripts to Clients for execution
• Process billing, mileage reimbursement requests
• Obtain medical reporting, diagnostic reporting and request for treatment from various physician's and log in claims management software
• Assist case managers, attorneys with other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualification/ Skills:

• 6 month office experience required
• Background in workers compensation or basic knowledge of works compensation laws/procedures a plus**
• Experience with computer programs and software's (Microsoft applications, Outlook, Adobe Pro, Docusign, and Google Drive, etc)
• Experience with MerusCase a plus***
• Technology Savvy - paperless atmosphere

This is a full time non-exempt, in office position Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 pm.

Compensation $19-21 per hour depending on experience

Upon completion of 90 day probationary period, compensation package includes medical benefits, vacation, sick pay and possibility of hybrid remote work.
