Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Program Gymnastics Coach to lead and support our gymnasts in their journey towards excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gymnastics coaching, a passion for working with young athletes, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive training atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical instruction and guidance in artistic gymnastics

- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes skill development, confidence, and sportsmanship.

- Conduct regular assessments to track athletes' progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Collaborate with other coaches to design cohesive training plans and ensure consistency in coaching methods.

- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff members to provide feedback and updates on athletes' progress and performance.

  • Assist in the organization and execution of gymnastics competitions, events, and showcases.
  • Uphold safety standards and protocols to ensure the well-being of athletes during training sessions and competitions.
  • Assist in Meet planning by request of Director, Upload monthly lesson plans into google drive/print for level notebook
  • Take attendance accurately, documenting the reason if we know prior to absence
  • Remain knowledgeable about all USAG Rules and Requirements for the competitive level of the gymnasts you coach
  • Understand and enforce all policies in the Team Policy Packet
  • Keep certifications and membership current
  • Maintain gym equipment making sure it is in safe and good working condition
  • Attend all scheduled competitions
  • Arrive at competition in Legends Uniform, 15-30 minutes prior to session start time
  • Help “gymnasts” navigate meet site, assist with athlete check-in, if needed
  • Remain in “active coaching position” throughout competition and be aware of rotation order, warm up times, and competition order
  • Remain on competition floor with athletes until final competitor of the session is finished
  • Remain with athletes during Awards Ceremony and teach them proper sportsmanship throughout competition AND Awards Ceremony
  • Keep communication with parents positive and concise (at both practice and meets/competitions/ events); any further discussion can occur via a scheduled meeting at Legends.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience coaching gymnastics at the developmental level, preferably within a competitive gymnastics program.

- Strong knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals, techniques, and training principles.

- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with athletes, parents, and colleagues.

- Current certification from a recognized gymnastics governing body, USAG is preferred.

- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
