Legal Aid of Western Missouri is Hiring an Administrative Assistant: Public Benefits Unit Near Kansas, MO
Legal Aid of Western Missouri is in search of an Administrative Assistant to work in the Public Benefits Unit, at our Kansas City, Missouri office. The assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support for the Public Benefits Unit attorneys, paralegals, and supervisor in cases involving Medicaid and unemployment benefit, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program issues, and guardianship and conservatorship matters.
This position is responsible for file maintenance, mailing, drafting letters, preparing exhibits, data entry, client communications, providing backup support for the switchboard and intake desk, and miscellaneous tasks as they arise.
This position must maintain a high level of confidentiality of sensitive matters that arise within the office. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
Excellent typing ability
Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills
Microsoft Word proficiency
Excellent customer service skills
Legal experience preferred, but not required.
Rate of pay: $20.51/hour DOE
