We have 2 outlets Lake Burton Grill featuring classic fine American fare along with an extensive wine list where the Bowline Takeaway and Bar will offer various grab-and-go options, including Shrimp by the half pound, Fish Tacos, Burgers and Signature Cocktails.

We will be open 7 days a week during season for both lunch and dinner.

Position Summary : The Server Assistant(SA) is an entry-level position that provides important support to restaurant staff while offering fundamental training and experience to the employee.

The SA adds to guests dining experience by properly setting tables, providing bread and water service, clearing courses, cleaning and responding to the needs of guests and servers.

Reports to : Assistant Manager

Job Tasks

Properly and consistently set up bus stations, multiple table service, and private parties.

Greet guests professionally at table with bread and water service.

Replenish food and beverages when needed.

Remove dishes from tables, bar and bus stations.

Restock clean dishes.

Assist servers in delivering food and beverages.

Prepare dishes for washing by scraping and stacking them by type.

Clean spilled food and drink.

Keep restrooms, foyer and entrances clean.

Maintain adequate stock of clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays.

Prepare coffee and tea as needed.

Clean and refill condiments and polish & roll silverware.

Wash glasses and other serving equipment in the bar / restaurant area.

Complete special assignments.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Customer Service : Must consistently be able toassess, anticipate and meet multiple guests’ needs at high quality standards and evaluate customer satisfaction without projecting a mood that detracts from guests’ experience.

Must balance bar guests’ needs with those of guests served by wait staff. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards.

Communication : Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. The ability to promote two-way communication by presenting clear ideas using thoughtful and responsive words.

Nonverbal cues from a guest or server can alert the bartender to a potential problem. Must also understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction.

Interpersonal Relationships : Must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.

Problem Solving and Conflict Management : Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.

Quality Control and Priority Assessment : Assess the value and importance of customer needs to maintain a high standard of quality.

Performing General Physical Activities : Must perform physical activities that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.

Time Management Skills : Must utilize methods and organization techniques in a fast-paced environment to ensure efficiency and respect the time of others.

Language Skills : Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language.

Flexibility : Often work overtime, when needed, and assist the workload of others.

Initiative : Must take action frequently, collaborate with team members and develop new ideas that focus on results.
