TheStaybridge Suites – Racine Mount Pleasant has an exciting opportunityfor an experienced Chief Engineer for a brand-new property!
The88 suite extended stay property is located at 7430 Washington Ave. in beautifulMount Pleasant, WI. Opening soon, the hotel will be the premier extended stayproperty in the market.
The Chief Engineersets the tone for providing exceptional service levels for our guests. Weexpect leaders to focus on creating amazing moments for guests and team membersand dig deep to find ways to create success for their team. TheChief Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising the implementationof all aspects of the maintenance and repairs of the physical systems of thebuilding and equipment. The Chief Engineer is responsible for coordinating andsupervising the preventative maintenance of guest rooms and public areas. TheChief Engineer is also responsible for ensuring compliance with company, localstate and federal codes and regulations. Therole’s primary responsibility is to help drive results through their entiredepartment. In this role, the Chief Engineer is expected to help promote andimplement property-wide strategies that will increase guest satisfaction,reduce employee turnover, maintain revenue and payroll budgets, meet and exceedproductivity goals. LegacyHospitality Management managers are charged with providing strategic vision,ensuring tactical execution, and actively managing their department to achievethe company’s revenue and profitability goals and objectives. Workis performed both inside and outside. Outside work can be performed in rain andwarm temperatures. Work is also performed in both guest contact and non-guestcontact areas. Noiselevel in the work environment is usually moderate except in mechanical areasand when using certain equipment. Work involves using various tools, includingtools that may be considered dangerous. Protective equipment and clothing willbe required. Proper safety precautions specified by the tool manufacturerand/or OSHA must be followed. Workmay involve high voltage equipment and electric panels. Proper safety equipmentincludes but is not limited to the use of gloves that must be worn, at timesfor an extended period. All applicable OSHA and national and local electricalcodes must be adhered to.PhysicalDemands
o Theemployee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and to moveobjects up to 100 lbs. o Theperson in this role may be exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally,and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly. o Theperson in this role may be carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to50lbs and pushing and / or pulling approximately 200lbs. o Theperson in this role will be frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneelingand moving about the hotel. ExpectedHours of Work
oMust be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends andholidays. oMust be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights). o Tento twelve hour shifts sometimes required.
Educationand Experience
oHigh school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or relatedmajor preferred. o Aminimum of 5 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance or relatedprofessional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing andsupervisory experience. oPrevious experience in a hotel property or service industry preferable. oGeneral knowledge of qualified trade such as HVAC, electrician or plumber,carpentry is desirable. oCertification in at least one qualified trade is required. oUnderstanding of and previous experience in a union environment a plus.
