Unity Center for Behavioral Health is a one-of-a-kind center for people facing a mental health crisis. Unity Center features a Psychiatric Emergency Service, where patients receive care by specialists in behavioral health in a calming, non-hospital-like setting. Unity also has inpatient care for adults and teens. It is a collaboration between Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and Oregon Health & Science University.
Under the direction of the department manager, oversees the day-to-day operations and employee performance of the Food Services Department, to include patient food services, and/or cafeteria and/or catering services. Serves as a dedicated on-site presence to coordinate the work of the Food and Nutrition Supervisors. Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems, working with, and evaluating employees. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices of the Food Service Department.
Education:
Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience, required. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
Experience:
Three years supervisory experience in a high volume food production establishment required. Three years of hospital food service supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and concepts of food sciences including recipe development, food safety, and product quality standards. Demonstrated a strong understanding of patient diets. Understands Café Food Service standards and concepts that will maintain or increase sales. Demonstrated ability to organize and lead staff. Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required. Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques required. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations
