LEGACY HEALTH is Hiring a Nurse Auditor Analyst Near PORTLAND, OR

This is primarily a remote position – incumbents, who reside in Oregon or Washington only, may work at home, on the road or in a satellite location for all or part of their workweek. There may be occasional situations that require work to be performed on-site at an assigned Legacy Health location.

All new hires are required to come to a designated Legacy Health office location in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date for a new hire health assessment and to complete new hire paperwork.

Note that our employee health plan coverage is for providers based in the Legacy Health geographic region. To find providers in our network click here. Urgent and emergent coverage is available outside Legacy Health’s geographic region and telehealth is available within Oregon and Washington.

Responsibilities

Assists patients and their families with questions and concerns regarding charges and coding related to patient services. Performs charge and chart reviews in response to third party audits. Monitors department charging processes to assure maximum revenue and reimbursement and to ensure compliance with State/Federal billing regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

As required by licensure.

Experience:

Three years acute care nursing experience required.

Three years of healthcare billing and/or credit/collections experience or applicable clerical support experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of billing process including registration, authorization, charge entry, department charge practices, coding and insurance denials.

Demonstrated knowledge of billing/collection rules and regulations.

Net typing of 40 WPM, ten-key ability and PC-based computer skills.

Demonstrated interpersonal and effective communication skills which promote cooperation and teamwork.

Ability to work with credibility and effectiveness with medical and administrative staff.

Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize and prioritize related tasks.

Work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.

The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to perform the competencies and essential functions of the job as outlined.
